Spend Down Guidelines to Preserve Disability-based Medicaid or SSI
If you are receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Medicaid due to a disability, one of your options to preserve these benefits after a legal settlement is to spend down the settlement funds on exempt items in the calendar month of receipt.
